4 Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil,
to take part in wicked deeds
with men who are evildoers;
let me not eat of their delicacies.
5 Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness;
let him rebuke me—it is oil on my head.
My head will not refuse it.
Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;
In verse 3-4, i learn that in whatever i do, my mouth and heart is the key to the wellspring of my life. Therefore in whatever i say or do, i want to be able to sense the right and wrong and not indulge myself in sins. Even if the situation seems hard for me to do the right thing.
In verse 5, what i wanna apply is to take heart when i'm being corrected for the good by God's people and treat each and every advice as a valued possession in my life.
I really admired David's spirit in refusing to flow along with what's evil and standing strong for what's good in God's sight.
It got me reflecting hard about my attitude in being righteous for God's values in my life. Being the 'salt and light' at home especially.
Love,
Evelyn
